Texts go out only after the member agrees to receive them from your agency. You do not need to record that ahead of time: the first text to a member with no consent on file asks you to confirm it, wherever you send from.

Ask on the call

Ask the member whether they agree to get texts from your agency at the number on file.

Send the text

Send from Messaging, Send Application Summary, eSign, a document request or a Quick Send. When there is no consent on file, a Confirm text consent prompt opens before anything goes out.

Confirm only if they said yes

Click They agreed, send and QualityQuotes records the consent with your name and the time, then sends. Click Don't text and nothing goes out by text.

Which number your texts come from

The composer on the Messaging tab shows the line under To, for example From (561) 555-0101 · your number. When your agency pairs a number to you in Agency Settings → Texting numbers, your texts, Quick Sends, summaries and eSign texts go out from it. Without one, they go out from the agency line.

Automatic texts use an agent's number too. A workflow that fires on a policy, like a sale, texts from the agent who sold it. Other workflows text from the member's assigned agent. The Life app invite and Life follow ups text from the agent on the policy. A workflow you set off yourself, by moving a stage for example, texts from your number. When that agent has no texting number, or the member sits on the agency book with no agent, the text goes out from the agency line.

Replies land on the member's thread whichever number they texted, and show up within a second or two while the Messaging tab is open. Each bubble names who sent it, and a reply to an agent's number says whose line it came in on. STOP to any of your agency's numbers opts the member out for everyone.

When a member texts back

One person gets the alert: the agent whose own number the member texted, otherwise the member's assigned agent, otherwise whoever last texted them. It lands in the bell as Text from Jane D. with the first line of the reply, and pops up in the corner of any page you have open with Open thread. More replies before you read it update the same alert instead of stacking new ones.

The Messaging tab shows how many replies you have not seen. Opening the tab marks them read and clears the bell alert for that member. Unread is per person, so a teammate reading the thread does not clear yours.

Why a text still cannot send

  • No mobile number is saved on the member.
  • The agency messaging connection is unavailable.
  • You chose Don't text at the consent prompt.
