QualityQuotes runs APTC and SLCSP estimates inline during plan search and quote review. Figures use broker supplied household inputs and current CMS data returned for the search.
APTC (Advance Premium Tax Credit)
APTC is the monthly subsidy applied to Marketplace premiums. The tool estimates APTC from household income, size, and the coverage year you select. The estimate appears as a monthly credit and as net premium after subsidy on each plan row.
SLCSP (Second Lowest Cost Silver Plan)
SLCSP is the benchmark Silver premium used in the subsidy calculation. You do not pick it manually. The tool identifies the second lowest cost Silver plan in the household rating area for the selected year.
CSR (Cost-Sharing Reduction)
CSR improves cost sharing on Silver plans for eligible households. When CSR applies, eligible Silver plans show enhanced benefits in the plan details. CSR is not a separate premium credit.
Figures shown are illustrative. Actual amounts depend on Healthcare.gov eligibility determination and current CMS plan filings. The IRS reconciliation on Form 8962 is the final number. Not insurance, tax, or financial advice.
For the full data pipeline, see the methodology page. For a standalone subsidy estimate, use the APTC calculator.
A subsidy estimate belongs to the quote. After signed business becomes a policy, track it through Policy stages.
